Who we are

Cookies and similar technology

We use third-party tools that set cookies: PostHog for product analytics, Klaviyo for onsite personalization and marketing engagement tracking, and Google Tag Manager to deploy those and other measurement tags.

PostHog stays off by default and only turns on after you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. If you accept, PostHog records page views, clicks on key buttons and links, and basic device/browser information so we can understand how visitors use the site and improve it. Analytics traffic is routed through our own domain (/ingest) before reaching PostHog's servers.

Klaviyo loads on every visit to power onsite tracking and personalization, and sets its own cookie to recognize returning visitors. If you identify yourself (for example, by submitting an email address), Klaviyo lets us tailor marketing communications to you.

Google Tag Manager also loads on every visit. It is a container that lets us manage and deploy the tags above without editing site code directly; on its own it does not set tracking cookies, but any tag we configure through it (for example, Google Analytics or Google Ads) may set its own cookies. We will update this policy if we add tags of that kind.

Your choices

You can accept or decline PostHog analytics at any time. Declining (or never accepting) means no PostHog data is collected about your visit. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again, and you can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the site footer.

Data retention and sharing

Analytics and marketing data is retained by PostHog and Klaviyo under our accounts and is not sold to third parties. Google Tag Manager does not itself store visitor data; it only passes it to the tags we configure. We do not use tracking cookies for cross-site advertising.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@motleytech.io.
